Who operates this website

This is the personal campaign website of James Tobias, a candidate for the Manchester Community Schools Board of Education. It is not operated by or affiliated with Manchester Community Schools, the Board of Education, or the Michigan Association of School Boards.

What is collected

• Community questions: your question, the publication choice you select, and any first name or email address you choose or are required to provide for that choice.
• Family and teacher/staff questionnaires: the answers you choose to provide and, only if you request follow-up, your email address.
• Basic technical information: hosting, security, and traffic-measurement services may process information such as page requests, browser or device type, and approximate location. I use traffic data in aggregate to understand site activity, not to identify questionnaire respondents.

How submissions are used

I use submissions to understand community concerns, respond to questions, identify patterns, and inform my work as a candidate. I may publish aggregate questionnaire findings and share those findings with the School Board whether or not I am elected.

Family and teacher/staff answers will not be published as identifiable individual responses. They are voluntary, self-selected feedback and will not be presented as a scientific or representative poll.

Questions and publication choices

I will publish a community question and my response only when the person submitting it selects a public option. A first name appears only when “Publish with my first name” is selected. “Publish anonymously” removes the submitter’s name from the public post. “Do not publish” keeps the question off the public website.

Permission to publish does not guarantee publication. I may edit for length or clarity and will not publish confidential records, identifying information about other people, threats, harassment, or unverified allegations about identifiable students or employees.

Anonymity and contact information

You may submit the family and teacher/staff questionnaires without a name or email address. If you request follow-up and provide an email address, the submission is not anonymous to me. I will not publish contact information or voluntarily disclose identifying information, except when reasonably necessary to operate or secure the site or when required by law.

Free-form responses can sometimes identify a person from the details provided. Please avoid details that could identify you or someone else unless they are necessary for a private follow-up.

Information you should not submit

Do not submit student or employee names, exact home addresses, passwords, Social Security numbers, medical information, IEP or 504 information, education records, discipline records, personnel records, or other confidential information. Do not use these forms to report an emergency, misconduct, discrimination, abuse, or an immediate student-safety concern; use the appropriate school or emergency reporting channel.

The family and teacher/staff questionnaires are intended for adults. Children under 13 should not submit personal information through this website. Teachers and staff should respond using personal time, devices, and accounts and should not disclose information they are not authorized to share.

Storage and retention

Submissions are stored using the website’s hosting infrastructure and are accessible through a restricted campaign dashboard. Contact information is kept only as long as reasonably needed for follow-up and administration. Survey responses may be retained through the campaign and afterward long enough to analyze and report aggregate findings, then deleted or de-identified when no longer needed.

No online service can guarantee absolute security. I use reasonable access controls and limit the personal information requested.

Your choices

You may skip any optional questionnaire item. You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of a submission by emailing TobiasForManchester@gmail.com. I may need enough information to identify the submission and verify the request.

Campaign and school resources

These questionnaires are campaign activities conducted through personal campaign resources. They are not official Manchester Community Schools surveys. School employees should not use district-controlled contact lists, work time, equipment, or accounts to promote or complete them.

Changes

I may update these terms as the questionnaires or website change. The date at the top will show the most recent revision.
